New Release: The Mesmerist by Liza O'Connor @Liza0Connor

The Adventures of Xavier & Vic
Book 3

The Mesmerist
By
Liza O’Connor
Cases Solved:
The Servant Serves a Deadly Cup of Tea
The Magical Accruing Interest
The Mesmerizing Mrs. Meyers
The Bank Robbery of Mammoth Proportions

Vic has now become a full partner of Xavier Thorn’s Private Inquiries, yet trouble threatens their personal and business relationship as facts from the past come back to haunt Xavier. Worse yet, a formidable foe returns and proves to be more than Xavier can handle. Fortunately, with his amazing partner and a growing staff, they are ready to take on any problem that comes their way. If only their clients were more forthcoming with the facts!

Once satiated from their lovemaking, Vic raised the topic heavy on her heart. “Xavier, did you see the Queen?”
“In fact I did. She wanted to thank me for my efforts to save the servants forced into sex slavery.”
Vic bolted upright in outrage. “You?”
“And I told her, ‘Your Majesty, you have the wrong man. It was my clever partner, Victor Hamilton, who saved the servants.’”
Vic eyed him carefully as she tried to determine if he was teasing or not. “And what did she say?”
“She wanted to know if you were the spitting image of Dr. Watson.”
Wrinkling her nose in disgust, she resettled on his chest. “I hope you told her no.”
“I did, and then went on to brag profusely about you.”
“What exactly did you say?”
“And have your head swell larger than it already is? Not a chance, scamp.”
“Maybe next time I can go with you.”
“I doubt I’ll be invited again.”
“Did something happen? I saw Stone arrive, and later his men took away a servant in handcuffs.”
His right eyebrow rose an inch. “How do you know he was a servant?”
“He kept saying, ‘I only wanted to refill his tea.’ What happened, did you move the cup?”
“No. And I can say no more about it.”
His words hurt more than she thought possible. She tried to roll away from him, but he held her tight against his chest.
“Let me go,” she growled.
“I did not take the assignment.” He spoke softly, but she could hear an undercurrent of outrage. “I cannot talk about the case, but I made my conditions very clear. Either you were brought fully in and I would have full use of my staff, or I would not take the job.”
“And he said no?”
Xavier paused. “I was able to persuade him to accept you, but he dug his heels in on Tubs.”
“But Tubs is a valuable asset!” Now she understood why Xavier sounded so angry. The First Minister was an idiot! Who would not want Tubs on their side? He knew everything about the criminal world. He could tip a carriage with one arm. He could bend thick metal bars without breaking a sweat, and despite his massive weight, could keep up with her in a dead-out run. However, she refrained from stating these attributes, because Xavier didn’t know the details about some of their activities while he’d been recovering from his injury and opium addiction.
Instead, she hugged her beloved and returned her head upon his chest. “Forget the First Minister. With our growing staff, we need to focus on paying cases.”
“What is our case this morning about—and it had better not be another missing cat.”
She nipped him for bringing up the eviscerating feline case she had taken. “You’re never going to let me live that down, are you?”
“Probably not.”
She pushed off his chest, and this time, he let her go. “Well, according to Ben’s notes, someone thinks they’ve invested in a scam.” She nudged Xavier from the bed and followed him. “This one will require your involvement, because you have failed to teach me about investments.”
He dared feign shock and dismay. “Not so well-trained after all, are we?”
Her eyes narrowed but she kept her mouth shut. If she argued, he’d torture her with her ignorance through the entire investigation.

There she worked for the meanest man on Wall Street, while her psychotic husband tried to kill her three times. (So much for finding nicer people.) Then one day she declared enough, got a better job, divorced her husband, and fell in love with her new life where people behaved normally. ~Excerpt~

Dylan stepped off the elevator expecting to see Alice at her desk, but instead it was empty. He enjoyed seeing her there. She lit up each time she saw him. In his office, he found a stack of yellow notes for missed calls and a note scribbled about Jacob stopping by.

Had she quit? He glanced through the notes, looking for one from her specifying where she was, but nothing came up.

Fuck, this day just kept getting worse. He hoped she hadn’t quit. He’d been good to her. He hadn’t yelled at her once, and his expectations about getting work done seemed fine to her.

Maybe he should call it a day. Go home, sit on his couch, and watch a movie. Something boring that didn’t require much thinking. He’d had enough of that today for his lifetime.

The elevator dinged and he walked to the window in his office.

Alice. She was back.

He marched out of his office as she dropped her purse in the bottom drawer of her desk. “Where have you been?”

She raised an eyebrow. “Lunch.”

“You should’ve let me know.”

“I left you a note.”

“You did not.” He crossed his arms.

She sighed and brushed past him, entering his office. He followed, and as she bent to the floor, his hand ached to smack her ass that raised high in the air. She straightened and held out a white note.

Gone to lunch. Be back around 2. – Alice

He gripped it roughly. “How am I expected to know you left me a note on the floor?”

“If I’d done that, then I’d leave you another note to look on the floor.” She rolled her eyes. “I guess the air conditioning came on, blowing the note off your desk. There are several others under your desk.”

He didn’t like the irritation in her voice. It didn’t sit well at all with him. The thought of her being upset with him made him want to fix it. “It was a mistake. We all make them. Next time wait for me to return.”

She glared at him. “I had no idea when you’d be back. You can’t expect me to wait around for you all day like a little servant.”

“Servant?” Where was this coming from?

“Okay, maybe that wasn’t the right word. But if you don’t tell me when you’ll return, it’s hard for me to know when I can take a lunch. Since I didn’t pack a yogurt today, I went to the cafeteria.”

Oh, she was taunting him. “I told you I’d be back in a few hours, and I was.”

She was quiet and blinked a few times, her eyes slightly moist. “Next time I’ll wait. I apologize for my tone. I was out of line.”

She spun on her heels, but something over took Dylan. He’d upset her by being an idiot. Of course she should’ve taken a lunch. She needed to eat. He grabbed her arm, bringing her toward him. Without a second thought, he cupped her face and pressed his mouth to hers.

She froze, hard under his touch. Needing to know her taste, he thrust his tongue in. Mint…just as he’d suspected. Her tongue met his and as he deepened the kiss, she relaxed into him. With a free hand, he held her waist, tugging her against him. He liked kissing her…his body liked it, too.

She moaned softly as she clung to his tie. He’d love to take it off and tie her hands up with it as he pleasured her with his tongue.

The kiss ended too soon, and not by his action. Alice stepped away, bringing a finger to her swollen lips. She had a look of panic as she turned and darted out of the room. Her heels clicked as she dashed through the lobby toward the restroom.

Fuck. She was really going to quit now.

  Just Gotta Say

Amazon ** Barnes & Noble

Just Gotta Say is a super sexy friends-to-lovers story and a contemporary ménage a quatres. Here’s the blurb: Callie Davis stumbles upon two of her three male roommates in a surprising, molten-hot midnight tryst and discovers a side of herself she never knew existed. Desire to play with them grips her, and she can’t stop fantasizing about having multiple men, particularly her three long-time best friends. Callie is thrilled when a guys’ night out gives her the perfect opportunity to recreate her fantasy, with the help of a threesome porn video and a bag of sex toys. That is, until Lucas, Jack and Noah return early and catch her in the act. More than anything, the guys want to make her fantasy come true. But Callie has a secret, and she can’t help wondering if being with all three men will risk the future she’s always wanted with one of them. As three strong sets of hands caress and undress her, Callie surrenders to desire, because sometimes you just gotta say...yes.

Excerpt: The set-up: Callie’s most secret fantasy was just unexpectedly revealed to her three male roommates… The invitation he laid out for her—the invitation to be with them, to act out this fantasy for real with them—was completely outside anything she imagined possible. She sat for a long moment, still mostly curled into herself. Her gaze lit on the rough bobbing of Jack’s Adams apple as he swallowed. His apparent case of nerves eased hers. A little. Soft, sandy-colored strands brushed against her forehead. Her nose filled with the scent of him, all night air and masculinity. Callie took a deep breath, her body remembering her unfulfilled arousal even as her brain struggled to keep up. “What are you saying, Jack?” she whispered, buying herself time to think and needing him to spell it out. One hand stroked her back while the other combed her hair off the side of her face. “I’m saying”—he nibbled at her ear, but this time his lips lingered, his warm exhalation caressing her skin—“that the three of us want to bring that fantasy to life for you. If you want.” Every nerve ending tingled with the promise of what he offered. Her heart rose from where it had plummeted into her gut and now hammered against her chest. Images of the three of them kissing her, fucking her, swamped her brain. Blood roared through her ears. “Are you teasing me?” “Look at me,” he said, sliding his large hand under her cheek. The commanding press of his skin on hers skittered electrical charges down her neck to her breasts. Her nipples hardened. She acquiesced and sat up just enough to face one of her three dearest friends. “We want to do this for you.” He quirked the sexiest of crooked smiles and shrugged with one shoulder. “You know we’d be good together.” She didn’t know whether his “we” meant her and him or the four of them. An encouraging voice in her mind said both interpretations were true. He cupped her neck, his grasp comforting and reassuring, and brushed his lips against her right cheekbone. Her right eye. Her forehead. Tilting his head to the other side, he repeated the action against her left eye, the apple of her left cheek. She gasped when his last kiss fell on that tender, hollow spot just below her ear. “What do you want, Callie? Whatever you want, we want. Always.”

Length: 74 pages
Genre(s): Contemporary Erotic I/R M/M Paranormal Romance

Release Date October 10, 2014

Blurb:
Artist Casey Smith lives a quiet life, under the radar of his enemies, until one fateful night he loses control and the astonishing image of a wolf racing down a suburban street splashes all over social media.

Hunter’s bullet never misses its target. The assassin seeks out and kills his prey with a clear conscience by following two simple rules: 1) Don’t kill innocents 2) Don’t kill shifters.

Realizing his latest assignment violates those rules, the hunter activates Princess Protocol and the assassin becomes the protector. Red hot attraction flares between the hit man and his former target. Can Hunter resist the sweet shifter in his care?

Excerpt:
He stepped closer to Casey’s stall but stumbled over something small and furry. The toe of one Birkenstock caught on a clump of grass as he attempted not to trample the little beast, and he ass-planted with said beast jumping onto his chest to give him a broad doggie smile.
His buddy laughed piss-your-pants-hard in his ear. Fuck a duck.
“Miss Priscilla!”
The target he’d worked so hard to observe remotely sank to the ground between his sprawled-out legs, peeling the tiny hairball off his chest and setting it on the ground.
“I’m so sorry! Are you okay?”
Big blue eyes fringed with long, pale lashes scanned his body while strong yet gentle hands moved over his ankles and legs, searching for an injury. Oh, a toucher. His wolf basked in the tactile attention. His breath hitched as those hands glided past his knees and skimmed his thighs.
Damn, he needed to get laid after this assignment.
“Oh, my, what a li’l sweetie. Look at those freckles! I wonder if he’s got them everywhere. I’d like to lick them,” Rex crowed in his ear.
He growled.
The other man chortled. “Possessive, much?”
He inhaled deeply, only to be slammed with the force of a Mack truck. Strawberries on a warm summer’s day and fresh-cut grass—shit, his target smelled delicious. He took another breath, and his brain reeled. He’s a wolf shifter, too? Fuck.
Casey’s brows furrowed. “Where are you hurt?”
He forced a smile. “I’m fine. No worries.”
Casey returned the smile, his wide and high beam combined with sparkling eyes. Hunter stared as warmth wrapped around him like a blanket. He had no ammo against such a happy, open expression. The guy freaking glowed.
