Especially when it's Aiden O'Malley, one of the most dangerous men in Boston, who offers her a chance for justice. The only catch: she'll have to pretend to be his fiancée for his plan to work.

Aiden can't afford to let anyone see the man behind the mask. To run the O'Malley empire, he has to be cool and controlled at all times. But the moment he meets Charlie, they're playing with fire. Her slightest touch is enough to send him over the edge. At first their "engagement" was a way to eliminate his enemies. “Let’s get one thing clear—”
One thing? I have a goddamn list.”
He bracketed her throat, putting just enough pressure there to stop her words. “Did you change your mind?”
She narrowed her eyes but didn’t try to pretend she had no idea what he was talking about. “You play your game your way. I’ll play it mine.”
Disobedient and willful to the very end. He couldn’t decide if she was trying to provoke a response or if she was just that opposed to being locked down in any way. In the end, it didn’t matter. “I should bend you over this counter and fuck you into submission.”
“Don’t think for a second it would work.” Charlie rolled her eyes. “And beyond that, we’re already going to be late, so unless you’re looking for a quickie, fucking me in any way is out of the question.”
The irrational side of him, which always seemed to come into play around her, rose to demand he throw caution to the wind and prove her wrong. He reined it in, but only barely. Every time she pushed him, intentionally or not, he slid a little closer to the edge. It was only a matter of time before he went over—and took her with him.
Aiden let go of her and stepped back. He didn’t like the confusion on her face—or the flicker of hurt that rose as he moved to the dresser across the room. For all her spikes, there was something fragile about Charlie, and he’d have to be a special kind of bastard to want to shatter her, no matter who her father was.
He opened the drawer at the bottom that had been empty until a week ago. “Take off your panties.”
“I’m sorry, what?”
He gave her a look. “You heard me.”
“I’m waiting for you to explain.”
Aiden shook his head slowly. “There aren’t two separate games—there’s only my game. Either play along or deal with the consequences.” He picked an item out of the drawer and held it up. “Here’s your first punishment.”
“I didn’t do anything wrong.” But her eyes lit with interest at the small blue vibe in his hand.
He motioned her forward, giving her plenty of time to tell him to go to hell.
But she didn’t.
Charlie moved to stand directly in front of him. He lifted her dress to the tops of her thighs, bunching the shimmering fabric. “Hold this,” he ordered.
“You are aggravating in the extreme.”
“So I’ve been told.” He pulled her panties down to her thighs. It was tempting to kiss her there, but he forced himself to stay on task. Aiden held the small vibe against her clit as he shifted the lace back into place. It took a few seconds to maneuver it to exactly where he wanted, but then he sat back on his heels. “You can let go now.”
“This is an important night, Aiden.” She shifted, a frown on her face. “We don’t have time for your sex games to distract me.”
He pulled out his phone and brought up the app he’d downloaded when he bought the sex toy. A flick of his finger and her entire body tensed. Aiden didn’t bother to hide his satisfied smile. It fell away when he touched his pocket and the little box it held. “One more thing.”
“I swear to God, I draw the line at anal plugs, so don’t even think about it.”
That surprised a laugh out of him. What surprised him even more was how good it felt. When was the last time he’d laughed freely in a way that wasn’t calculated?
Aiden couldn’t remember.
He stood and pulled out the ring box. “I’d go down on one knee, but that isn’t the kind of relationship we have.”
“No, it’s not.” She looked a little sick, but she held out her hand so he could slide the ring onto it. “Aiden, it’s beautiful.”
“It was my grandmother’s.” It had taken some shady work to figure out Charlie’s ring size after he’d first met her, so that he could get the ring resized. He hadn’t told anyone about it. Though he’d been as sure of her as he could be of a near-stranger, he hadn’t wanted to admit the lengths he’d gone through, in case things didn’t pan out.
If anything, she looked even more horrified. “I can’t wear your grandmother’s ring. It’s not right.”
“You have to. As oldest son and heir, that ring rightfully belongs to my future wife. It would be more than a little suspicious if I didn’t give it to you.”
She touched the massive diamond. It was in the same setting as when his grandfather had proposed, little rubies and garnets surrounding the diamond, to represent colors in the O’Malley crest.
It felt a whole lot like he’d just branded Charlie.
It didn’t bother him nearly as much as it should.

Praise for UNDERCOVER ATTRACTION

“Robert (Forbidden Promises) combines strong chemistry, snappy plotting, and imperfect yet appealing characters in her fifth O’Malley contemporary.”—Publishers Weekly on UNDERCOVER ATTRACTION

“Imagine the erotic sensibility of Red Shoe Diaries expertly fused with the ruthless power struggles that fueled The Sopranos and you have some idea of the flavor of Robert’s RITA–nominated O’Malleys series. In the fifth installment, she doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to the searing sensuality of the love scenes or the brutal danger propelling the plot, thus delivering exactly the kind of intense love story her readers crave.”—Booklist on UNDERCOVER ATTRACTION

Review:
This book is HOT capital H O T like keep your BOB near by HOT. #DirtyWIll for the win.

Seriously I've read almost all of Ms Bailey's books and this one is a class above. Will has the dirtiest mouth on him and he uses it in the best of ways. That being said the romance is great to and Teresa is swept off her feat by Will I would have been to but she keeps him on his toes too. And of course we can't forget Southpaw the star of the book.

I highly recommend this read. 5 out of 5

Excerpt:
“Here we are.”
My face heats over being caught even imagining such things. We’re at my door and I have no recollection of entering the motel. Come on, Teresa. Stop letting this guy get to you so bad. “Right.” I fish for the key card in my pocket, but cease all movement when Will brushes his fingertips down my arm, then trails them back up. Slow. And all the while, he invades my space, eliminating inches at such a leisurely pace that I’m panting by the time our mouths are a breath apart.
“What are you going to do when I close this door behind you, Teresa?” He grazes my bottom lip with his teeth, making me gasp. “You going to get undressed in front of the air conditioner, thinking it might cool you down after teasing my cock for over an hour in the bar? It won’t. I give you five minutes before you’re face down in bed, riding your own fingers.”
My knees threaten to buckle. “That’s my business.”

“Make it mine.”

Mayday. Mayday. “Will—”

He stops my admonishment with a drugging kiss, his tongue stroking in and out of my mouth. His hands grip my elbows, lifting me up on my toes in desperate degrees, meshing our bodies, our lips, until I’m moaning, letting him have rough intercourse with my mouth. Just when I’m on the verge of giving in and begging him to take me up against the door, he steps back, eyes glittering, wiping away the moisture on his mouth with a wrist swipe. “I’ll be out on the balcony. If you’re going to finger yourself in my honor, I want to listen.”

EXCERPT
“Welcome to Latin American History.” At that deep, lightly accented voice, my pen fell to the paper, as useless as my brain. “This class will also serve as your Study At Sea seminar, which means I have the joy of getting to know each of you very well over the next three months since you’ll be writing a thirty-page thesis for me.” The class groaned, and I slowly dragged my eyes from the paper, past the neck of the red-haired boy in front of me, to the man who stood at the head of our class, casually leaning against his desk. I took in the way his pants hugged his hips, the contrast of his rolled white button-down against his tanned skin, and the loose green tie at his throat. My gaze caught on his lips, the strong line of his nose and cheekbones, to the melty chocolate eyes that were focused on the other side of the room as he addressed the students there. His hair looked like he’d run his hands through it more than a few times, and his teeth flashed white when he grinned, those panty-dissolving dimples appearing. My heart stopped beating and my breath froze in my lungs, as if the slightest motion would make him disappear. A rush of heat flushed my skin, and the knot in my chest loosened, unraveling as surely as my body had the last time I’d seen him. “So let’s get started, shall we? I just flew in from the States today, but I’ll be sure to learn all of your names by the end of the week. Now if you’ll let me have this moment, I’ve been waiting eight years to say it— My name is Dr. Delgado.” Two thoughts slammed into me simultaneously. One—Delgado. At least now I knew his last name. Two—Holy. Fucking. Shit. Cruz was my professor.

For two FBI agents with a past, love becomes a matter of life and death in the new Hidden Sins novel from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katee Robert.
Maggie Gaines used to be an FBI agent—top of her class and one of the bright, up-and-coming stars—until she spectacularly fell apart during her first high-profile case. That was eight years ago. Now she’s a ranger at Glacier National Park, and she’s found some measure of peace. But when the body of a murdered woman is discovered, she must finally put the past behind her and work with the one man she thought she’d never see again.
For months, Vic Sutherland has been hunting a killer who’s been targeting unsuspecting hikers in national parks—and now the predator has come to Glacier. Vic knows the case will bring him face-to-face with his former partner, yet nothing can prepare him for seeing Maggie again after all these years, or for the memories of passion it stirs in both of them.
As the investigation brings them closer together—and closer to the killer—Maggie and Vic fear they have only each other to trust. But even that might not be enough to make it out of Glacier alive.

Vic’s gaze fell on his phone. Maggie’s number was now in the contacts folder. It would be easy to dial it, just to check on her.
Except it was late, and she hadn’t asked for him to babysit her.
He’d gone years without seeing her, and now that they were in the same general area, it was like they were two magnets that could barely resist the pull. He wanted to hear her voice, to sit her down and share a meal that wasn’t military issue, to actually talk.
His phone rang, which startled him so much he almost dropped it. Vic stared at the screen for several precious seconds, wondering if he was more tired than he’d thought, because it sure as fuck looked like Maggie was calling him. “Sutherland.”
“It’s me.”
He sat on the edge of the bed, suddenly painfully aware that he wore only a towel. It shouldn’t matter. She couldn’t see him, didn’t know what he was or wasn’t wearing, but it did matter. “Hey, Maggie.”
“I have to apologize.” He could almost feel her soft sigh. “You were right, and I was acting like a stubborn kid. This whole thing—the murders in the park and having to deal with my past and you—has got me all twisted up.”
Maybe it was the events of the last two days, but he was so goddamn tired of doing the noble thing. He never put himself or his personal shit before a case. Not once.
He’d never wanted to before.
“I twist you up?”
“As if you didn’t know. I had something of a crush on you when we were partners—which I’m sure you knew after I threw myself at you—and apparently I didn’t outgrow it as much as I thought.”
The dimness of the room evoked an intimacy he didn’t deserve. Was Maggie sitting in her bedroom in low light, too? He liked the picture that made. “You have nothing to apologize for.”
“I’ve been making an ass of myself since you stepped off that helicopter.” She shifted, the sound painfully loud in the near silence. “And I’m doing it again, apparently. My whole point was that I’m sorry and I’ll be professional from now on. You don’t have to worry about any breakdowns or hissy fits.”
If he was smart, he’d take her apology for what it was and allow it to move them back to solid ground. There were lives on the line and a condensed timeline that was only going to get more condensed with each body that popped up.
But when Vic spoke, he didn’t move them back to firm ground. He threw them right over the edge of the cliff. “Fuck being professional. I want you, Maggie. Not the former FBI agent. Not the park ranger. I want you.”

Praise for The Hidden Sins Series

“…a captivating read, made all the more rewarding when good triumphs.” —Washington Post

“Robert shows off her impressive versatility in this fast-paced and inventive new Hidden Sins series. The small-town setting is a masterful blend of quaint and oppressive, which ratchets the menace and thrill factor. The protagonists carry the full weight of their pasts with them, making their growing relationship as compelling as the mystery element in The Devil’s Daughter. With plenty of twists and betrayals, this is a book that is sure to earn Robert a wealth of new fans.” RT Book Reviews

Spotlight and Review: Toxic Diamonds by @LizaOConnor

Late Victorian Era was both amazing and appalling.

As factories expanded in the cities, so did the poor arrive, hoping for a job.
Soon the middle-class grew and began to expand.
As more people moved to the cities, the need for homes exceeded the homes available. Some unethical builders began building homes for the new middle-class without proper plumbing allowing deadly gases to asphyxiate people in their sleep and toxins in the walls and floors that could kill them.
And for the poor, conditions became intolerable.

An entire family would often live, sleep, and eat in a single cramped room, with a tin tub for washing but no toilet or running water. They would have to use the pump outside for drinking water (which was frequently contaminated) and use the two-seater public outhouse somewhere in a two-block range to rid themselves of the runs.
There were also open sewers they could piss in—certainly couldn’t make it smell worse. Cholera, Dysentery, and Toxins were killing people by the hundreds, but those in the country kept arriving, all the same. The cities were literally dying over its sewage issues.

Everyone is called in to assist: Jacko, his wife Alice, their son, Pete, Samson, the Crime Lord, David and Claire, Tubs and his wife, Sara, the boys: Cannon and Ham, plus the bloodhound, Arroo.
The Wasp who escaped punishment for her attempts to murder her bigamist husband’s first wife last year is back. Vic discovers love letters between Ben, their terrible secretary, and the Wasp. Worse yet, he shared Xavier’s financial advice with the Wasp, making her and her husband very wealthy.
With Stone missing, and Barns and Meyers stretched to their limits, Vic decides it’s time to train more of the Scotland Yard officers in intuitive and deductive reasoning. While only half the class makes it through her two-day course, everyone is pleased with her results.
Finally, be warned: Vic’s sister, Claire, is becoming more difficult than ever. Gregory thinks she is going mad.

Review
Okay so I will be the first to admit I am a huge fan of  Liza's Xavier and Vic Series. Having read the entire series more than once. That being said I am always pleasantly surprised that with each book the series just gets better and better.
The wonderful mysteries that I never manage to solve before the characters do are what keep you turning the ages.  Then there's the lovely relationships between all of the characters. Whether it is father son, brother sister, or husband and wife. Reading these books is like getting to catch up with family you haven't seen in a while then remembering at the end why you love them so much.
If you haven't read the books before this one I highly recommend you do, you won't be sorry. Overall I give this 5 out of 5.

“Bloody Hell!” Davy yelled.
Gregory headed to the carriage house with a severe reprimand on his tongue. While Davy had become far more prone to bursts of anger since they had hired a driver-in-training, bellowing curses at this early hour of the morning was unacceptable.
He lost his scold upon the sight of Davy, on his knees coughing.
When he approached Davy, the man waved him away.
“Stay back…poisonous gas…” Davy choked out before collapsing.
The air in the carriage house did smell bad and the horses kicked at their stall doors as if wishing to escape as well.
Gregory hurried back to the kitchen where he found most of his staff. He sought out Fagan and Casey. “Retrieve Davy and take the horses out back. Do this while holding your breath!  Now!”
Gregory knew that with a normal staff such instructions would have a myriad of follow up questions. But his staff was battle ready at all times. Thus, the inexplicable order to do these actions while holding their breath would be followed.
He hurried to his room and called Dr. Connors. “We have an emergency. There is a foul odor in Davy’s carriage and the air in the carriage has brought Davy to his knees. The horses are affected as well. I’ve sent the boys in with orders to extract Davy and the horses. Can you come?”
“Yes, of course,” Dr. Connors assured him. “I’m not yet dressed, but I will be there in short order.”
Gregory thanked him and returned to the carriage house. Both Davy and the horses were gone.
He hurried out the back door and found his three drivers sitting on the grass and the horses tethered to trees.
“Is everyone alright?”
Davy nodded and coughed. He then reached over and patted the back of Fagan. “He saved my life while Casey saved my Marybell.” He met the two young men’s eyes. “I know I’ve not been friendly with either of you, but that ends now. From now on, I’ll be your friend if you wish, and I’ll teach you whatever you don’t already know. However, that may not be much, because from what I’ve seen, you are both superb drivers.”
Both young men grinned. Fagan held out his hand. “Friends, then!”
By the time Davy shook it, Casey had approached and held out his hand. “Friends for life.”
“Without you guys, I’m pretty sure I would have died today.”

But all those bad behaviors has given her lots of fodder for her humorous books. Please buy these books, because otherwise, she’ll become grumpy and write troubled novels instead.
